Commitment for a Cure Gala to raise money to fight diabetes

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

The astronomical costs of diagnosed diabetes has reached $245 Billion in the United States, and prevention is more critical now than ever.

To raise funds to help create awareness and to find a cure, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) in southeastern Michigan will host its 21st-annual Commitment for a Cure Gala, called Unmasked. The event will be held at the MGM Grand Hotel Detroit at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013.

The main event ($250) starts at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception. Dinner and program follow at 8 p.m. The VIP reception ($350) will begin at 6:00 p.m. VIP Plus tickets ($900) include two tickets to attend the Unmasked Gala, VIP reception, a one-night stay in a luxury room at the MGM Grand the night of the event, and overnight valet service.
