ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (WJBK) -

Rochester Hills Fire Chief Ron Crowell tells Fox 2 a raging fire consumed a two-story home on West Auburn Street Sunday afternoon.

No persons were injured, but one of the four dogs belonging to the elderly couple who lived there became trapped and didn't make it out.

The couple, both in their seventies, made it out safe with the three other dogs.

Fire crews responded around 4:30 p.m. Sunday to the home on West Auburn, and saw smoke billowing from the windows.

The fire inside was so intense crews could not make entry and were forced to fight the blaze from outside.

By the time the fire was under control, the house was destroyed.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
