ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

A body found in some marsh in Atlantic City Sunday morning was identified as that of a missing 49-year-old man.

According to Atlantic City police, a woman was walking her pet just before 8:30 a.m. in the area of the 1800 block of Horace Bryant Drive when she reported seeing what looked like a body in the water.

The area is known as the Penrose Avenue Canal.

Police say a body was discovered partially in the marsh and was taken to the medical examiner's office.

Later in the day, the body was identified as 49-year-old Patrick Jacobs of Atlantic City, according to the medical examiner's office. Jacobs was last seen on April 6 at his home on the 1500 block of North Ohio Avenue, police said.

Investigators say his last contact was through his cell phone to a friend on the day he was last seen around 11 p.m.

Police say there was no sign of foul play and no sign of trauma to the body, however a cause of death has not been determined.
