If you grew up in LA in the 70's and 80's, chances are you got your weather information from Dr. George Fischbeck.

Dr. George has been working on his book, "My Life In Weather".

If you want to meet Dr. George, he will be signing copies of his new book this Friday at 7pm at Roman's Bookstore in Pasadena.

Fun facts about Dr. George:

  • Dr. George was a television weatherman on KOB-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico from the early 1960s to early 1970s.
  • In 1972 he moved to KABC-TV in Los Angeles, California, replacing Alan Sloane, where he became a staple on the station's Eyewitness News broadcasts.
  • Dr. George is an amateur radio operator, and carries the call sign KE6SBY.
  • He is currently a volunteer with the Los Angeles Zoo.
