Fulton County detectives say they need the public's help in finding a killer who savagely beat a father of four, and left him in a parking lot along Fulton Industrial Boulevard to die.
Benjamin Bell, 45, died nearly three months ago, and detectives say they are not close to an arrest. Bell's family says they are hoping a piece of information will help them find peace.
Family members say Benjamin went to Riley's Showbar on January 26 to meet a friend, but somehow ran into trouble. Surveillance video didn't capture the struggle, and Fulton County police detectives don't have much to identify his attacker.
"They told us there was a chance, but it wasn't very good," said the victim's brother, John Bell.
Benjamin died a few weeks after the beating from severe head trauma. Investigators say they have no witnesses, and no explanations for the crime. John is asking for help in finding answers, and a way to move forward.
"This is a father that's been taken away – a son, a brother, a husband. He's got four children that will grow up without him. Just that closure will mean a lot," John said.
The Bell family believes at least one person knows what happened. They say it may be someone thought it was just a fight, and didn't know it turned fatal.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477, or Fulton County police at 404-613-9130.
