Talker: Obama`s anti-tattoo strategy: If daughters get inked, we will too

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

How would you feel about your daughter or son getting a tattoo?

President Obama has made clear he hopes his daughters Sasha and Malia don't get any ink. He and Mrs. Obama have a strategy to dissuade them.

The president explained it Wednesday during an appearance on the Today Show.

"What we've said to the girls is, ‘if you guys ever decided you're going to get a tattoo, then mommy and me will get the exact same tattoo in the same place and we'll go on YouTube and show it off as a family tattoo,'" Obama said. "And our thinking is that might dissuade them from thinking that somehow that's a good way to rebel."

His idea is that the tattoo on him would instantly be so uncool, it would ruin the whole point for his daughters. Pretty clever, if you're an anti-tattoo parent.

The website slate.com is having with the story. They touched up a photo to show what the first family would look like with matching Mike Tyson-style face tattoos. No comment, so far, from the White House.

Is the strategy a good one? Would you mind if your child got a tattoo? Is getting a tattoo actually a form of rebellion? Sound off on our Facebook page.
