GLENDALE, Ariz. -

Glendale police say they negotiated with a man for over an hour while he held his 7-month-old baby on an apartment balcony early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the complex near Glendale and 43rd Avenues for a report of domestic violence.

When officers talked to William Fahnbulleh, they say he became very agitated and started yelling at them from the balcony while carrying couple's 7-month-old child.

Police learned there were weapons inside the apartment and wanted to make sure Fahnbulleh did not go back inside the apartment with the baby.

Police say according to witnesses, 26-year-old Fahnbulleh threatened to harm the child during negotiations with officers.

After about an hour and a half, Fahnbulleh surrendered peacefully and no one was injured during the ordeal.  Authorities were able to take him into custody.

Police have not said what charges Fahnbulleh is facing.
