Ga. man injured during firearms training course

FORSYTH, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a man training to be a Warner Robins police officer has been hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself during a remedial firearms training course.

Allison Selman-Willis, spokeswoman for the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, tells the Telegraph of Macon (http://bit.ly/188JQbN) the 28-year-old man was attending Basic Law Enforcement Training at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth when the mishap happened Monday afternoon.

Selman-Willis says the man shot himself in his right leg as he was putting his .40-caliber Glock back into his holster.

The man's wound is not believed to be life threatening.
