Want To Save Money In LA? Get A Roommate

Posted: Updated:
Los Angeles, CA -

(FOX 11) The rental experts at "Lovely" did the math on how much money renters can save by living with roommates.

And with rent prices increasing in the Southland as much as 15% in recent months, Lovely CEO & founder Blake Pierson told our investigative producer Heidi Cuda that Angelenos can save about 25% on a per bedroom basis by living with one roommate.

"I'm seeing more and more people across the board, all ages, young, old, being forced because of the economy and prices going up… to find roommates," says Pierson. "If we look at Beverly Hills, for most people it's unaffordable. But if you're willing to live with three roommates, you can save close to 45% per bedroom."
