LANSING, Mich. (MyFox Detroit) -

Score at least one victory for Detroit area attorney and activist Robert Davis in his latest legal wrangling with the state over the placement of an emergency manager in the city of Detroit.

Ingham County Court Judge William Collette has ordered the deposition of Kevyn Orr, the Detroit Emergency Manager, John Dixon and Steve Arwood of the State of Michigan Loan Board. Davis filed the lawsuit saying he believes the interview, search process and selection of Orr violated state law.

When asked about the process Governor Rick Snyder has refused to reveal how many candidates were considered or who was on his list before Orr was chosen for the post.

Judge Collette ordered that all emails and documents between elected state officials, appointed officials or employees of the state and Kevyn Orr and representatives of the Jones Day law firm pertaining to the search for an emergency manager should be turned over to Davis' attorney.

Collette also ruled that Governor Rick Snyder and state Treasurer Andy Dillon do not have to provide depositions at this time.
