Flood watch issued as rain moves into Georgia

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

A weather system nearing Georgia could bring plenty of rain over the weekend.

FOX 5 Storm Team chief meteorologist Ken Cook says from Atlanta northward, the area could see anywhere from 2 to 4 inches of rain. He says the amounts are high enough to create localized flooding.

Most of the rain should come on Saturday night through Sunday, Ken said.

Because of that, a Flood Watch is in effect for Saturday through Sunday evening for most of the metro area and north Georgia.

Some spots could see up to 6 inches of rain.
