No Verdict Yet From Jury In Abortion Doctor's Murder Trial

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

The jury in the capital murder trial of abortion Dr. Kermit Gosnell is home for the weekend.

Jurors will resume deliberations next week after failing to reach a verdict in the first three-and-a-half days.

The West Philadelphia abortion doctor went on trial last month. He's accused of murdering four babies the prosecution says were born alive during late-term abortions. He's also accused of the murder of a patient.

Three of eight murder charges against Gosnell were thrown out by the judge last week.

The 72-year-old doctor could face the death penalty if convicted of any of those first-degree murder charges.

We want to warn you: The details of the case may be disturbing.

Reporter Claudia Gomez will have a live report from outside the Criminal Justice Center in Center City during the FOX 29 News at 5 & 6.
