PHOENIX -

Phoenix Police are holding a gun buyback event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. People can drop off their guns, no questions asked, and receive a gift card in return.

Members of the public can bring their unwanted guns in exchange for gift cards from Bashas' --which can also be used at Food City and AJ's Fine Foods. 

Those exchanging handguns, shotguns or rifles will receive a $100 gift card per gun and assault weapons a $200 gift card per gun.

These guns will be destroyed, not resold.

Instructions:

  • Bring UNLOADED firearms. (If you cannot unload the weapon, please inform the officers when you arrive)
  • Before arriving, place the firearm in a trunk, back seat (if no passengers), bed of truck, or glove box.
  • DO NOT HAND THE FIREARM TO THE OFFICER WHEN YOU ARRIVE. Officers will access the firearm from one of the listed locations indicated by you.

  • Southminster Presbyterian, 1923 East Broadway Road
  • Betania Presbyterian, 2811 North 39th Avenue
  • Sunnyslope Mennonite Church, 9835 North 7th Street
