Posted: Updated:

ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed is scheduled to host an event at City Hill to kick off Older Atlantans Month.

Reed will be flanked Monday by members of Atlanta's City Council and actor Tony Vaughn, who plays Colonel Cleophus Jackson on Tyler Perry's "Meet the Browns," to highlight initiatives and services targeted to the city's elderly residents.

The celebration will include a fitness demonstration, musical performances and bingo.

The event is scheduled to begin at noon in the City Hall atrium in downtown Atlanta.
