May is "Older Atlantans Month" in the city and Mayor Kasim Reed joined in celebrating Atlanta seniors on Monday. Hundreds of older Atlantans took part in the festive salute held inside a decked out City Hall atrium.
Mayor Reed showed off some of his moves on the dance floor, calling the event a great way to express appreciation for all the contributions of older city residents.
Reed says the yearly event to honor the city's seniors started in 1963. He also used the event to highlight his administration's commitment to improving seniors' access to social services.
