Now trending online: A hero who can tell quite a story.
Charles Ramsey is the man who heard cries for help from the Cleveland home where 3 young women had been held hostage for about a decade. He helped kick down the door, set the women free, and called 911 and explained what was happening.
At times, he seemed more composed than the 911 dispatchers. He also sounds so animated on the recording and in subsequent TV interviews that he's become a national hero on a whole different level. His nonchalant talk comes off as humorous.
"She said ‘My name is Amanda Berry. Please get me out this house,'" Ramsey explains in an interview. "So I'm thinking ‘oh whatever' so I helped her get out the house. I ain't thinking you're really that girl that's missing."
Ramsey, who works as a dishwasher at a restaurant, is now an internet sensation. His name is a top trending topic on Twitter and there's a Facebook fan page dedicated solely to him.
McDonald's even tweeted that they will "be in touch" with Ramsey since he mentioned several times that he was eating McDonald's when he first heard the commotion next door.
