ATLANTA -

Authorities say they have made an arrest in connection with a Buckhead carjacking.

SKYFOX 5 was over the scene when a man was arrested after police executed a search warrant at a home on Tarragon Way in southwest Atlanta on Friday.

Investigators said that the suspect, 24-year-old Ronnie Houston, hid behind a washing machine when U.S. Marshals knocked on his grandmother's door.

U.S. Marshals tell FOX the arrest was related to the recent carjackings where the suspects bump the back of a car and when the victims stop and then get robbed.

Last week, authorities warned motorists concerning a series of carjackings in Buckhead. The first case took place on Pharr Road on April 26. Another carjacking took place on Elsworth Industrial on May 1. Then on May 2, a carjacking that began with a tap on the bumper occurred near West Wesley and Howell Mill roads.

Authorities arrested Houston in connection with the May 1 carjacking.

U.S. Marshals said they found a purse and wallet that belonged to the bump-jacking victim inside the house they search on Friday. They said they also found what looks like stolen items from other robberies.

"Apparently has been involved in some other criminal activities, robberies and whatnot, not just in Atlanta, but outside the city as well," said Sgt. Greg Lyon of the Atlanta Police Department.

Houston is charged with armed robbery, hijacking a motor vehicle, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of financial transaction card theft, hit and run and driving without a license on person.

Investigators are working to determine if Houston is part of a gang.

"He's affiliated with a few individuals. At this time, we're still determining whether or not he's affiliated to specific branch or a specific gang," said Inspector Eric Heinze.

FOX 5's Chris Shaw reports that records show 15 different mugshots for 15 different times in the last few years that Houston was booked into jail.
