PHOENIX -

A 33-year-old man was sentenced for running a sex prostitution business between for at least eight years.

George Calvin Windley pled guilty to conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking on July 11, 2012 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Thursday.

Authorities say Windley ran a prostitution business between 2001 through at least 2009.

Windley would allegedly befriend young women and lure them into the business with the promise of drugs, cash, clothing, jewelry, material goods and the promise of an extravagant lifestyle.

Vulnerable women who had been abused as children, came from broken homes, were runaways or needed money to provide for their children were most targeted.

According to authorities, Windley used physical force, violence, coercive acts and threatened the women's family members to keep the women from leaving the business.

Windley reportedly struck, punched, kicked, pushed, raped and used other abuse in order to intimidate and scare the women. Authorities say he also manipulated the women psychologically to control them.

One victim was kept in a hotel room for several months while authorities say Windley physically and sexually abused her and forced to her to work a prostitute.

All money brought in by the women were given to Windley, according to authorities.

Windley allegedly used the Internet to advertise sexual services provided by the women and used stolen credit card numbers to supplement the operating expenses of the business.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI, the Phoenix Police Department and the Scottsdale Police Department.
