Peoria Police are announcing the arrests of four people who they say stole metal and stripped commercial A/C units.

Officers were conducting surveillance on a vacant building near 91st Ave and Peoria Ave early Sunday morning. The building was hit several times over the course of the past few weeks, and officers had reason to believe the thieves would return to finish.

Michael Panyko, Daniel Harris, April Acevedo, and Bridgette Harris were arrested.

Police say the two women served as lookouts while the two men climbed on the roof and threw the stripped parts down to be collected later. They caused an estimated $200,000 in damage.

Police say the suspects also targeted unattended construction vehicles to steal wire or other scraps and tools. They would then sell scrap metal to recyclers in Phoenix and get money to supplement their drug habits.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to contact Peoria Police.
