GLENDALE, Ariz. -

A 17-month-old baby was rushed to the hospital Wednesday night after being found in a backyard pool.

The call came in about 7 p.m. Wednesday at a home near 75th Ave and Thunderbird.

Glendale Police say the child slipped out of the house through a doggie door and may have been in the water for over 15 minutes.

He was unresponsive when he was found. Paramedics performed CPR all the way to the hospital, but the child was pronounced dead.

He did not live there, but was visiting the house for a family gathering.

The owners of the home had a pool fence but it was not put together.
