Teen Shot, Killed In Parking Lot Of Water Ice Stand

PHILADELPHIA -

Philadelphia police are hoping surveillance video will help them catch the gunmen who shot and killed a teenager in the parking lot of a Rita's Water Ice.

It happened Tuesday night on the 6900 block of Stenton Avenue in the West Oak Lane section of the city.

Police say the victim was shot once in the chest and possibly in the face.

It's still unclear what sparked the violence.

"Based on ballistic evidence at the scene, we know two shots were fired from two separate caliber handguns, so we know at least two weapons were used," Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

Police are searching for a silvered-colored Chevy Impala that took off right after the shooting.

Investigators also said there was a police surveillance camera near the scene along with at least five local businesses with cameras, some of which recorded at least part of the incident.
