TROY, Mich. (WJBK) -

There was quite a buzz Thursday at Boulan Park Middle School in Troy because of two people -- a seventh grader and the Detroit Lions' quarterback.

The students got a visit from Matthew Stafford himself because Marissa Orzame won the "Make the Play for Healthy Habits" video contest.

This was a contest sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. It invited students from all over the state to submit videos on how to make Michigan a healthier place.

In Orzame's video, she talked a lot about how dancing is key to staying happy and healthy. In fact, she even convinced Stafford to do the Dougie.

Afterwards I had the chance to talk with Stafford.

"Growing up, what did you eat? Were you healthy?" I asked.

"I was really active growing up. I played every sport under the sun, and so I probably didn't eat as well as I should have growing up," he said. "But further and further down the line, high school, college, and now pro sports, it's what everybody does. You take care of your body and realize how important it is."

The point of this contest was to tackle childhood obesity because estimates are, if we don't do something about it, this will be the first generation of kids not expected to outlive their parents.

Stafford did promise that if he scores a rushing touchdown, he will give fans a little bit of the Dougie dance in the end zone.
