911 call: 'I shot him with an AK-47...No way he's breathing'

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -

A Henry County man's confession in the shooting death of his father is heard in 911 calls obtained by FOX 5.

Authorities arrested 48-year-old John Wesley Morgan Jr. for allegedly shooting and killing his father after an argument at the family's auto parts business.

In the call to the Henry County 911, the caller admits to shooting his father.

"My daddy got out…and I had to shoot him," the caller said.

The caller tearfully says he had no choice but to open fire on his father.

"It was in self-defense. He come here wanting to fight, reached his hand in his pocket and I didn't have no choice but to shoot him," the caller said.

As police headed to the scene near Stockbridge, the 911 operator presses the caller to check and see if John Morgan Sr. is still alive.

"I shot him with an AK-47, ain't no way he's breathing," said the caller.

Authorities say they are skeptical of the younger Morgan's claim of self-defense. He is still in the Henry County Jail.
