Co-Worker Dug Collapse Victim Out Of Salvation Army Store

PHILADELPHIA -

We're hearing from family members of the people injured as well as the doctors treating the victims, FOX 29's Dave Kinchen reported live Wednesday night from outside the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Three people injured in Wednesday's building collapse – one man and two women – were staying overnight at HUP, mostly for observation.

"She's still in a state of shock," said a family member speaking for a visibly-shaken Nadine White, of South Philadelphia.

FOX 29 News cameras spotted her leaving Thomas Jefferson University Hospital with bruises on her face.

Her family says a co-worker dug her out of the Salvation Army Thrift Store left in shambles after it was crushed by a four-story building that came crashing down Wednesday morning.

Thirteen people were rushed to three area treatment centers on Wednesday.

Doctors said most of the injuries they were seeing were relatively minor abrasions, contusions, bruises and lacerations.

Hospital sources say one man even walked in on his own saying he was a crane operator at the demolition site.

Hospital officials at HUP said they are grateful all of the victims they treated were alert following such a traumatic morning. Doctors said all of the victims who arrived Wednesday and were treated there were able to give them information on family members so they could make those calls and bring relatives to the hospital.
