TEMPE, Ariz. -

A well-known dorm at ASU is getting a major makeover. Here's an inside look at the renovated Manzanita Hall.

From the look of it, you may not recognize old Manzanita Hall. The construction at the main Tempe campus of Arizona State University is well on its way.

"The idea was to make sure that the iconic parts of the building would remain, like the v structures on the windows, we are maintaining those," says Ed Soltero, Assistant Vice President University architect.

It was first built in 1967. The 15-story building was meant to house 1,000 co-eds. With this renovation, it'll have 860 beds.

"Two bedrooms, three bedrooms with shared bathroom. Four bedroom suites with two bathrooms," says Soltero.

The dining hall will be remodeled as well. They plan to add a new fitness center, mail and computer rooms, lounges and a business center.

The new "Manzy Hall" is slated for completion at the end of July.

For those sports fanatics, there will also be a volleyball and basketball court outside the hall.
