Police still haven't located mother of abandoned girl

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -

This young girl was abandoned at a Phoenix fire station last week. It's been 5 days, and still there's no sign of her mother.

On May 29, an intoxicated man took her to the station, said she wasn't being cared for by her mother, and walked away. The girl, likely 4 or 5, has been identified, but her mother has not been found. She has yet to reach out to inquire about her daughter.

Meanwhile, the girl is being cared for by Child Protective Services.

We asked Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Martos about the progress on the case.
