Four Democrats from New Jersey including Rep. Frank Pallone have entered the race for the US Senate to fill the vacant seat of the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg.

Early polls indicate challenger Newark Mayor Cory Booker is in the lead.

Pallone, a Long Branch native and resident and married father of three, has served in Congress for the past 25 years.

"I'm going to work harder. One of the things about Cory is that he's very cozy with Gov. Christie. His relationship with Christie hasn't helped in any way. The governor cut a lot of funding to Newark. I'm also concerned about his efforts to privatize the schools. There are major differences between myself and Cory Booker," said Pallone.

There is not much relief in sight for allergy sufferers. Experts say a shortened spring due to the long winter may create a more intense allergy season.  Some allergists say they've already seen a noticeable increase in patients as the weather has gotten warmer.
