Defense attorneys J.W. Carney Jr., left, and Henry Brennan, right, pictured leaving federal court in Boston earlier this month, have the unenviable task of defending someone who was not only one of the most wanted men in the country, but also someone the government would love dearly to convict.
Considering the embarrassment "Whitey" Bulger has already caused the FBI and US Attorney's office, the government views this case as a must-win and will spare no expense to get a conviction, but angry pre-trial hearings have already proven Carney is willing to push back just as hard.
