NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

The NYPD said the suspects started the day by robbing a Capital One Bank at 56th and Broadway before heading less than one block south and doing the same thing again at an Amalgamated Bank.

Police said the robbers changed their clothes as they moved from bank to bank to try to keep their identitys a mystery.

At least five banks were hit, including a Bank of America at 33rd Street and 6th Avenue.

An umbrella vendor said he saw a suspect leaving there.

Investigators said one robber pretended he had a weapon in at least one bank, handing a note over to the teller in at least one other. Cops said the suspect got splattered with ink used to trace stolen money.

Madore is charged with robbery. The NYPD identified the suspect who is still on the loose as Frank Mione, 47.
