Tank Explosion At Palmyra Gas Station Injures Worker

Posted: Updated:

Skyfox was over the aftermath of a tank explosion at a Gulf Gas Station on Route 73 in Palmyra, NJ Friday afternoon.

The explosion ignited while a contractor was cleaning out the gas tanks. A spark was caused by that cleaning process, and the tank blew up.

One worker was injured and taken to Cooper Trauma to be treated for burn injuries.

Local fire companies are now filling tanks with foam and water to extinguish the fire.

Traffic is moving again on Route 73, which was since reopened as fire and police officials believe there is no danger of another explosion.
