FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -

Forest officials have shut down a popular lava tube cave near Flagstaff as crews tackle a small wildfire burning in the area.

The Wild Bill Fire has burned nearly 30 acres northwest of Flagstaff. It was 50 percent contained Friday evening.

According to Coconino National Forest officials, smoke will be visible from Flagstaff, Bellemont, Interstate 40 and U.S. 180 for the next couple of days.

Forest spokeswoman Brienne Magee says no structures are threatened by the fire.

"The fire generally burned across the forest floor on level terrain in ponderosa pine forest, with some individual torching," she stated.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
