Chancellor Walcott discusses graduation rates

Since 2012, NYC high school students have been required to pass all five state administered Regent exams by earning a grade of 65 or higher.

The graduation rate this year is down 65.7 percent from 66.1 percent last year.

“It went down .5 for the measurement in June. But we are at the lowest level ever for the number of dropouts 11.7 percent. Our students are staying in school and are graduating," said Walcott.

Since 2005, graduation rates have risen by more than 39 percent.

I like my girls chubby.”  The 47-year-old Democratic New York senator discussed her new book, “Off the Sidelines,” in an interview with Good Day New York on Monday.
