Weekend Roundup: Korean BBQ Festival, Barks Brews & Bubbles, Clover Juice and Peter Tork

FOX 11's food and fun expert Mar Yvette searches the Los Angeles area for some of the best places to eat, drink, shop and have a great time. Featured guests then swarm our FOX Television Center parking lot every Thursday morning between 9am and 10am on Good Day LA, creating a big party as one jam-packed segment known as the Weekend Roundup!

Here's more information about the guests we featured:

Korean BBQ Festival

Get ready for some finger-lickin' K-style 'cue at the fifth annual Korean BBQ Festival on Saturday, June 23 from 11am-5pm. Taking place in Koreatown along 3700 Wilshire Boulevard, the outdoor grilling get-together coincides with CicLAvia, the countywide event when LA's streets are shut down to car traffic and opened up to bikers, walkers, skaters, runners, rollerbladers and pretty much any other non-motorized mode of transport. So lace up your sneakers and fuel up on Korean delicacies from dozens of vendors including the hugely popular Palsaik and their famed "8 flavors of pork." And don't forget the beer and wine garden. Festival admission is free, but you can buy pre-sale tickets for food and drink combos.

Barks, Brews & Bubbles

Suds are the name of the game at the "Barks, Bubbles & Brews" event this Sunday, June 23 at Angel City Brewery in Downtown LA. Splash around with soapy suds to give Fido a summertime bath then chillax with the crafty kind of suds from the brewery, which is donating 15% of sales that day to Much Love Animal Rescue. Doggies will be up for adoption along with live music and food including the deliciously new Son Of A Bun truck. You can also sign up to volunteer with the woofs.

Peter Tork of the Monkees

Hey, hey, he's a Monkee!!! Peter Tork is best known as one fourth of the iconic 60s pop group The Monkees, but did you know that he's a real-deal musician who has jammed with the likes of legends including Jimi Hendrix?? (In fact, Hendrix jammed with Peter on several occasions, calling Peter "The most talented Monkee.") These days, Peter is making new fans with his band Shoe Suede Blues and their rockin' blend of blues. You can catch the legendary music man on Saturday, June 22 at this weekend's Long Beach Bayou & Blues Festival.

Clover Juice

Juicing is all the rage these days, so what better way to kick off summer than with some cold-pressed, all-natural juices? Clover Juice (locations on La Brea and on West 3rd Street at The Churchill) has a variety of combos and cleanses meant to help you detox and stay healthy. So what exactly is cold-pressed juice? It's juice extracted by first crushing and then pressing fruit and vegetables without using spinning machines. Because these juicers don't produce heat, they keep more of the nutrients intact. At about $8 a pop, these bottled juices aren't cheap. But when you consider that each bottle has about 8 pounds worth of farmers' market fruits & veggies, it's worth it.

Sutter Zachman had his first record deal when he was barely out of his teens. You may have seen the Orange County native was on stage at the Largo and other hot clubs around LA. He then left town...after what he called a few "bouts" with the music business, but now he is back with a new EP called ‘Repeat Offender.'
