MESA, Ariz. -

Authorities busted a medical marijuana dispensary operating without a license out of a used car lot, located near Main and Gilbert in Mesa.

There are elaborate rules and requirements to operate a medical marijuana facility. You can get busted if you just decide to sell pot on your own -- and that's what happened here.

25-year-old Chase Seyler is accused of operating a medical marijuana dispensary without a license. It was not a surprise to neighboring businesses.

"Yeah we see people coming and going. We had a customer looking for that location land on our lot last year and wanted to know if this was a co-op, and we said, what are you talking about a co-op?" says Annie Juszkiewicz, 48th State Automotive.

Police say Seyler sublet the trailer from the owner of Finish Line Automotive, who was not aware there was marijuana being sold on his used car lot. There was no sign there saying anything about a medical marijuana business.

Now the dispensary is gone, and merchants on this corner will keep doing their thing: selling cars.

Chase Seyler was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail in downtown Phoenix for possession of marijuana and narcotic drugs for sale.
