One Day, Two Attempted Child Lurings In Pine Hill

PINE HILL, N.J. -

Pine Hill police tells FOX 29 that they think someone is trying to lure kids into his van.

There have been two reported attempted lurings that happened yesterday, and it's got parents in Pine Hill very nervous.

Parents in Pine Hill are shaken after two reported attempted luring within a mile of each other on Tuesday.

"Tons of kids walk by those houses every day; that's scary," says Jessica Gandy.

Jessica Gandy was at her pool yesterday when police arrived to ask questions.

A witness reported a van pulling up to a 13 year old girl on West Branch Road. The girl was asked to get inside but she refused.

"All it takes is oh you got hurt? Come here let me help you or something like that. Most of these kids are going to go. They don't know any better," says Gandy.

Then seven hours later it happened again. About a mile away on Erial-Clemtonton Road. Another witness reported a van approaching another teenage girl who was heard saying "no..no" before running away.

In both cases the vehicle was reported to be a white econo line van with dark rear tinted windows. And a partial New Jersey license plate starting with "WG4." The news has parents in Pine hill worried that not one but two attempted lurings happened in their backyard.

"I'm a paranoid parent. So they stay around me 24/7," says Terry Casey. "Awful. Awful. Scared. Scared for the kids who can't come out and play."

Police only have a vague description of the man they are looking for. And they are urging anyone with information on this vehicle or any other reported cases to contact police.
