A teenager who committed suicide on June 17 because of bullying has had his obituary condolence page harassed.
A mean-spirited peer wrote, ""HAHAHAHAHAHAHA HE DIED!!!!!! I HOPE HE IS IN HELLLLLLLL."
17 year old Gregory Spring just finished sophomore year of high school when he took his own life. He had tourettes syndrome and a developmental disorder called Callosum Dysgenesis that caused a brain malformation and learning difficulties. Spring's condition made him the target of bullying since fourth grade.
The bullying got really bad in high school, and Spring's mother Keri tried repeatedly to contact the school to ask for help.
Nothing was done because the superintendent said that Greg had not been bullied. Spring eventually got suspended when he got into a fight with one of his tormentors.
When Gregory Spring's parents learned of the nasty message scrawled online against her deceased son, they decided to speak out. They are advocating that schools and governments take bullying allegations more seriously.
Tonight look for cloudy and foggy skies with spotty showers N&W. Lows in the 50s.
Our next cold front comes through tomorrow, with rain, in the morning and then especially Friday evening. With the blast of cold air that follows, we'll probably have a dry day on Saturday, and the chance of a Sunday wintry mix into the afternoon and evening. A light coating could occur for some before a changeover to rain. Stay tuned!
