It may sound worse than it is, but the Polar Vortex people in the Northeast heard so much about last winter is already concerning some as it gets set to return this summer. Meteorologist Mike Woods says there is no need to worry, just be aware of the possible weather changes to come.  "A big dip in the jet stream could set us up for severe weather mainly Tuesday," said Woods.

CANAJOHARIE, N.Y. (AP) - Motorists traveling on a stretch of the New York State Thruway in the Mohawk Valley are being advised to reduce their speed and be prepared to stop because of flooding along the highway.

The Thruway Authority has issued an alert warning of flooding on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 between Exit 29A at Little Falls in Herkimer County and Exit 29 at Canajoharie  in neighboring Montgomery County. That stretch of I-90 runs along the Mohawk River, which has overflowed its banks in some areas Friday morning after heavy rain storms soaked the region.

The state police Thruway detail says the highway remains open in both directions and no accidents have been reported.
