Federal Judge Denies Bid To Drop Ticket-Fixing Charges

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Despite their best efforts, several former Philadelphia Traffic Court judges will stand trial.

A federal judge denied a bid to drop ticket-fixing charges against six judges and three others.

The accused had argued that there's no evidence they took bribes or kickbacks, but the judge believes there's enough evidence to send the case to trial.

Three of the nine judges initially charged have pleaded guilty.

Gov. Corbett, two weeks ago, signed legislation that will eventually disband Traffic Court and assign those duties to Philadelphia Municipal Court
