Gibson, Corbett's Son In Law, Arraigned And Released Today

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

He's the Governor's son-in-law. He's also a former narcotics officer.

Today Gerold Gibson was arraigned and released like the crooks he used to bust.

FOX 29's Omari Fleming went to former Philadelphia policeman Gerald Gibson's Northeast home, but the woman who came to the window refused to talk about the list of theft-related charges against him.

Gibson was a Philly narcotics officer when he was taken down in a federal and internal affairs sting operation earlier this year.

The 43-year old policeman is accused of stealing $145 from a $400 stash of marked bills planted in a car that sources tell us was wired with video.

We're also told his hands were covered with evidence, dust used to mark the money.

Gibson turned himself in to the 15th district where he was arraigned and released this evening.

The list of charges he's facing includes theft, obstruction, tampering, theft by deception and failure to make disposition of fund.

These are all misdemeanors.

The Governor's office had no comment on this matter. Gibson's court listing is on the eighth of this month.
