DETROIT (WJBK) -

About a month ago, we're told there was a bad accident at the corner of Puritan and Lindsay on Detroit's west side. Since then, there has been a splintered, cracked, split and leaning light pole.

"It's going to fall," one resident said. "Hopefully it don't fall on no one."

"It's easier to cut it down or take it down than take a lawsuit I would say," he added. "If I could do it, I would take it down myself."

"Every day I'm just waiting for it to fall," said another neighbor. "I pray don't nobody get hurt."

"This wouldn't happen in the suburbs," she added.

There is a ton of traffic near the light pole, a bus stop and kids riding their bikes.

Someone also told us about another cracked and leaning light pole a couple of streets down. It has allegedly been that way since April.

The residents realize the emergency manager came into town making some tough cuts. Now they say he has another emergency.

We did send a couple of text messages with pictures of the poles to the spokesperson with the Emergency Manager's Office. They are now aware of the issues and looking for answers.
