Candice Glover Lets The Music Speak

The third time was a charm for Candice Glover. This season's American Idol winner talked to Steve and Maria about her two previous auditions for the show before not only making the cut this year but winning it all. Candice shares the comments Simon made to her and how she used them to get to where she is now.

Candice also announced the release date for her new CD on the air..."Music Speaks" hits stores October 8th. She will also be front and center at the American Idol Live! tour, which rolls into the Nokia Theatre July 23rd.

  • Candice is an American R&B singer who won the twelfth season of the American Idol.
  • Glover is the first female winner of the show since Jordin Sparks won in 2007, the fourth African-American winner in American Idol history and the only winner to have auditioned three times before being cast for the live shows.

  • Before Idol, Candice was insecure and struggled with her weight. In an interview, she said she had to have counseling at school because of her insecurity problems.
