4th Annual Uncle Sam Jam returns to Woodhaven

WOODHAVEN, Mich. (WJBK) -

A fun-filled festival line-up is in store for Wayne County when the 4th annual Uncle Sam Jam comes to Woodhaven July 11 - 14.

The free family-fun festival takes place in Civic Center Park in the City of Woodhaven (located at I-75 and West Road) during the downriver communities' Independence holiday celebration. Uncle Sam Jam will feature national rock acts including Mark Farner, Skid Row, and Candlebox as well as several local musicians and bands, attractions for the entire family, a carnival, and much more.

This year, the four-day festival starts a day early on Thursday, July 11 at 2 p.m. with a carnival and other exciting attractions and a "Park It Family Fun Night" in the evening with a special showing of the movie "Hotel Transylvania" at 8:00 p.m.. In addition to the movie, Park It Family Fun Night will also be offering a "instrument petting zoo" where kids can get hands on experience with various musical instruments.

On Friday night, Downriver's biggest and best fireworks show will light up the skies.

Concerts are free to attend, but special VIP tickets are available for purchase and include premium, front-of-stage seating with access to private restrooms and a private bar.
