HAMILTON, N.J. (AP) -- It took Hamilton Township police nearly an hour to find a teenager who was shot at a birthday party that drew 100 people.

Police have confirmed 17-year-old Shakir Williams died six minutes after an ambulance returned to the scene of the shooting, which left four others wounded.

Police Capt. James Stevens tells The Times of Trenton officers found a chaotic scene with some guests breaking out windows as they tried to flee the home on Deutz Avenue late Friday.

Stevens says the first unit arrived in less than a minute after the first 911 calls.

Three of the four people who were shot had fled the scene.

Police called an ambulance back after Williams was found shot in a bedroom.

No charges have been filed.
