A "Merry-not-Scary" Halloween is returning to the Detroit Zoo

Posted: Updated:

Halloween doesn't have to be scary if you spend it at the zoo! Dress your little goblins in their costumes and head over to the Detroit Zoo for a half-mile trick-or-treat trail, haunted houses, cool family activities, and much more.

Zoo Boo is kicking off on October 11th, and is taking over the zoo every Friday-Sunday evening in October: from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. on Fridays and 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Zoo members can purchase their tickets starting September 2. General public tickets go on sale October 1. Advance tickets are $8 per person, ages 2 and up. Children under 2 are free. Tickets can be purchased at Window One at the front of the Zoo or online.  Time slots for Zoo Boo are 5 p.m. (Saturdays and Sundays only), 5:30 p.m. (Saturdays and Sundays only), 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. Gates close for entry at 8 p.m. If a date and time slot is not sold out, a limited number of tickets may be available at the gate that day after 5 p.m. for $11.

It sells out quickly and is an event you or your little ones won't want to miss!
