Evacuations End After Gas Leak At West Chester University

WEST CHESTER, Pa. -

SkyFOX flew over the scene of a gas leak Tuesday afternoon that prompted a campus alert message and evacuations at West Chester University.

The leak was reported to be outside Allegheny Hall, located on the campus along West Rosedale Avenue.

The university tweeted just after 12:30 p.m. that it's a "minor gas leak," and asked members of the campus to avoid the area.

Reports were that at least three residence halls were evacuated.

The gas line was apparently struck during construction.

Shortly after 1 p.m., the university tweeted that the leak had been repaired and "the emergency precautions are no longer in effect."
