GOP vows loss of debates over NBC, CNN Hillary TV projects

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON -

The plans for separate TV features on former U.S. Secretary of State, and possible upcoming Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton are igniting a firestorm of controversy in the Republican Party.

In July, CNN films announced it was producing a documentary on Clinton. NBC also announced development of a mini-series on Clinton's life.

On Monday, the head of the Republican Party threatened to cut out the networks from the GOP Presidential Primary debates if the shows air.

Clinton is widely expected to be a Democratic candidate in the 2016 election.
