Jacqui, Chiqui & Brother Juan: Jenni Rivera’s Children

Posted: Updated:

When singer Jenni Rivera died suddenly in a plane crash last year, it shocked everyone including her family. They had been shooting the reality show "I Love Jenni" when it happened. One uncomfortable question that had to be answered: would it be right to finish shooting the third season? They went on with the show and this third season will be the last...with the finale airing Sunday night. Two of Jenni's daughters, Chiquis and Jacqie along with her brother Juan talked to Steve and Maria about the whole experience. When asked about their late mother, the family admits it's still raw. "There's moments of shock...there's days you can breath freely and there's day you feel like you're being tied down" says Jenni's late brother Juan.

Her daughter agrees: "I kinda psych myself out and say that she's still on tour...and as the months come by you realize she's not coming back...it's a very ugly feeling. There's times I text her and obviously the phone is disconnected now but I'll text her..."

Despite her death, the family felt like they had to complete the season for the late singer...and that's why they need to also end it. "This is the end of I Love Jenni...it's not I Love Jenni without my mom."

Juan also says Jenni left a legacy that's unique to who his sister was. "It was okay for her to be her and for her to accept herself...she wasn't your typical superstar...very strong willed, very strong character, very independent and the hispanic community, the women, accepted her as her flag of that strong independent woman."
