Breckin Meyer & Mark Paul Gosselaar: We Get Along Very Well

Posted: Updated:

"I'm trying to be a professional, but the little girl in me sees Zach Morris."

That's what Good Day L.A.'s Maria Sansone told Mark-Paul Gosselaar when she spoke with him.  Like so many of us of a certain age, Maria grew up watching Mark-Paul on the hit TV series, "Saved By The Bell."  He was on GDLA to talk about his current role on TNT's "Franklin & Bash," but somehow that old show came up, as it often does during Mark-Paul's interviews.

And he doesn't seem to mind.  "You come to accept it.  The show is still on and I'm not running away from anything, except for him."

Him, who?  Mark's "Franklin & Bash" co-star Breckin Meyer was with him on GDLA, and got riled up when Mark accused him of being spoiled because he (Breckin) went to Beverly Hills High School.

"I went to Beverly Hills High, but I didn't live in Beverly Hills.  I had to lie,"  Breckin points out.  Besides, "You were on television since you were sperm, so how am I the spoiled one?" Breckin asks.

And before the Good Day interview ends, Mark-Paul reveals another secret:  that Breckin's first kiss came from none other than Drew Barrymore.

Fun Facts About "Franklin & Bash":

  • Is an American drama-comedy television series created by Kevin Falls and Bill Chais.
  • The series stars Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as unconventional lawyers and longtime friends. A Turner Broadcasting executive has referred to the series as a "funny legal procedural".
  • Breckin Meyer as Elmo "Jared" Franklin, the snarky, self-confident party-boy son of a famous trial lawyer. In season 2, it is revealed that his real first name is Elmo, a name which his family passes down from father to son.
  • Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Peter Bash, Franklin's best friend and legal partner. He is (slightly) more mature and level-headed than Franklin, and still has slight feelings for his ex-girlfriend, Janie.

Sutter Zachman had his first record deal when he was barely out of his teens. You may have seen the Orange County native was on stage at the Largo and other hot clubs around LA. He then left town...after what he called a few "bouts" with the music business, but now he is back with a new EP called ‘Repeat Offender.'
