DETROIT (WJBK) -

Tuesday night, the owner of A&J Auto on Detroit's east side got an alert his business was on fire. He believes it was his competition trying to snuff him out for good.

Surveillance video shows three kids on the property late Tuesday night. One of the suspects notices the camera and tells the others to cover their faces. Gasoline is poured around the outside of the building and on electrical cords in the back. Not long after, the building bursts into flames, and the kids run away.

We asked the competitor what he thought about the accusation. Akil Abdallah of Hayes Auto said the people at A&J are just jealous of his success.

So far, no information on the arson investigation has been released.

Fortunately, the damage to A&J was minimal.
