My Knee Surgery - Through The Eyes Of Google Glass

Posted: Updated:

You might remember, I had knee surgery last year. We showed you my before and after, live right here on GDLA. Well, a couple of weeks ago my other knee needed the same operation but this time, I had Google Glass. I thought it would be a great way to share my experience from the operating room.

Until last year, I never really knew what a meniscus was, let alone, find out that I was going to need surgery on mine. Last year I had my right meniscus tear repaired by renowned Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Sonu Ahluwalia.

I shared my experience from last year's surgery by inviting our Good Day L.A. crew to document it. Here are two videos from the surgery that I posted To YouTube.

"Waiting in the waiting room with my #googleglass before surgery."

"Anesthesia makes you say the funniest things!"

My right knee felt like it was brand new after that quick orthoscopic procedure, but cut to now... My left knee apparently wanted to have the same attention from Dr. Ahluwalia. I just had the surgery last week after an MRI showed even more damage to my left meniscus. For this surgery, I had my #GoogleGlass in hand and decided to document my trip to the O.R.

I don't remember the O.R. at all last year and not much this time either. So it was definitely interesting to look back at the moments through glass. If you've never had surgery before, and you're going to, this might be of interest as it could help take away some of the mystery and anxiety.
